Reimagining the Waterfront Icon
Al Nakheel Oasis is a proposal made for Sharjah City Municipality to envision a transformative intervention along one of Sharjah’s most iconic waterfronts, Khalid Lagoon. Designed as a multifunctional public space, the project reimagines the lagoon’s edge through a layered integration of shade, light, and leisure and attracts families and friends for a public gathering space.
By enhancing the site’s environmental comfort and visual factors, the proposal introduces a series of responsive urban elements — from shading systems to dynamic lighting and community-driven amenities. The design connects and elevates the public realm into a contemporary, engaging, and future-ready landscape for residents and visitors.

A new benchmark for nature reservation
The design strategically reduces thermal exposure during peak hours while preserving every existing tree on site. By maintaining the current palm trees untouched, the intervention enhances environmental resilience without compromising ecological integrity — merging sustainability with spatial performance.
