EWAN is an educational development designed for Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), redefining the architecture of learning through a sustainable and performance-driven design. The EWAN blends environmental responsive design with futuristic vision, creating a school environment that connects its students and inspires the learning process.
In response to the UAE’s climate, EWAN introduces a series of passive strategies that reduce heat exposure, enhancing natural ventilation, and improving outdoor and indoor thermal comfort. Careful analysis of environmental factors shaped the orientation, massing, and façade design — resulting in a structure that remains cool, efficient, and inviting throughout the year.
Connecting with Nature
EWAN stands as a new benchmark in academic architecture. Placing climate, community, and creativity at the heart of education while maintaining the availability of its spaces to the outside school time such as outdoor spaces, event halls, prayer areas, and students amenities. Therefore attracting students and members of the community to use the school at all times, and connecting families and friends together.
